Williams Scotsman 'Hits The Books' To Deliver A 38,000 Square Foot Turn-Key Library To The City Of Santa Clara

SANTA CLARA, CA- October 2, 2001 / In Santa Clara, recently, a soccer field became a library in just over 150 days. A feat that could only have been accomplished utilizing Williams Scotsman's Concurrent Constructionsm method.

The City of Santa Clara Central Library, the city's main library, was being demolished. A new library, on the existing site, was in the works. But a temporary facility was needed and time was of the essence. Hence, the city's decision to explore the option of modular construction. They turned to the experts - Williams Scotsman and, more specifically, John Ivey, Williams Scotsman Major Projects Sales Representative and Concurrent Construction Specialist based out of Sunol, California. "This was our first opportunity to work with the City of Santa Clara. They embraced the advantages - time and money savings primarily - which Concurrent Construction offers. The result was a complete, turn-key 38,000 square foot library, ready for occupancy in less than four months," said John.

Further site development of the project included: a fully paved parking lot, exterior lighting, a storm drain system, site plumbing and electrical, fencing, patios, walkways; you name it, Williams Scotsman provided it.
